Wildlife of the Cairngorms National Park
We are very fortunate to be surrounded by some wonderful wildlife in the Cairngorms National Park.
The park is the home address for 25% of the threatened species of animal, bird and plants within the United Kingdom.
The Cairngorms is the best place in the UK to see the Scottish Crossbill, which is the only bird species unique to Britain. Along with the Dotterell, Capercaillie, Golden Eagle, Osprey, Black Grouse and Crested Tit, you will find Pine Marten, Otter, Red Squirrel, Badger and maybe even the fabled Scottish Wildcat.
Haggis are seen on a daily basis scampering along the rooftops too!!
The links on the left, and below of this page show some great user generated content, discussion, images and video. Please take a look - and maybe get involved with any comments you may have.
